Lynn Landes is a Philadelphia-based writer, researcher, and activist in the fields of politics, health, and the environment. Her articles and opinions have been published in several books, films, and online publications. Lynn is the publisher of several websites (and subsites): LynnLandes.com, LearnStuff.us (WildFoodies.org), TheLandesReport.com (VotingSecurity), CountTheBallots.org, and ZeroWasteAmerica.org. On the environment, she has been a commentator for BBC radio, a radio talk show host, and a television news reporter, and written numerous articles. Since 2002, Lynn has been one of the nation's leading researchers and analysts on voting security issues.

On voting: Lynn supports paper ballots and hand counts at the polls on election day. She opposes voting machines, ballot counting machines, central counting locations, early voting, and unrestricted absentee voting. Lynn suggests that absentee voting be limited to federal office only for Americans living or based abroad; and that absentee voting and vote counting should be conducted at polls at U.S. embassies, consulates, overseas military bases and military ships. The most controversial suggestion Lynn has made was her argument in the 2007 The Landes Report to Congress, that the secret ballot, instituted in the 1880's, was perhaps not such a good idea. In a 2005 article, Plan B: Organize Parallel Elections & Signed Ballots, Lynn called on citizens to organize parallel elections in response to the total lack of transparency in U.S. elections. In several states, activists did just that. On the environment and health: In the period from 1999-2002, Lynn was an environmental news reporter for DUTV in Philadelphia, hosted her own radio talk show on WDVRfm in New Jersey, and was a weekly commentator for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) radio program. Lynn was also the founder of Zero Waste America, an Internet-based environmental research organization. Her eco-articles have been featured in print, online publications, and the books, Pollution: Opposing Viewpoints and Softly On This Earth. Lynn was in a series of interviews on environment and health issues on WebMD. Her 1998 report, State of the Nation’s Waste, was reported throughout the U.S. and internationally.
